Job Purpose
The QA technician will work in conjunction with the Production Team & Quality Assurance department as well as other Hampton Farms team members supporting processing and production requirements of Hampton Farms Peanut Butter Operations. The QA technician will be partnering with other Hampton Farms team members in being committed to delivering the best possible quality to our customers & employees in support of our mission, vision & values. This position reports to the Production Lead/Supervisor and the Quality Supervisor/Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Must NOT be allergic to peanuts
- Ability to provide correct and accurate production paperwork to the floor in a timely fashion.
- Accurately use raw peanut lab results to adjust formulations when required.
- Accurately completed all Quality reporting forms
- Verify that finished peanut butter LOTS are correct. This includes all aspects of the peanut including sensory evaluation, grind, labels, best by dates, DOM, lids, containers, coding, drum seals etc
- Provide accurate sampling of peanut butter lots for micro testing, collect and store retain samples for any future use
- Create accurate labels for products on line 2
- Accurately document samples for testing with proper paperwork as well as arrange for shipment to outside testing labs.
- Perform CCP verification checks on Metal Detector and X-ray machine. Appropriately react to any CCP verification check failures.
- Alert production team to food safety or off quality situations immediately
- Properly identify materials that are non-conforming. Lead efforts to get non-conforming materials on HOLD; including physically tagging items, filling out quality alert and other required documentation.
- Perform visual pre-operational sanitation inspections prior to beginning of the day’s production to ensure food safety”
- Work with production supervision to get the line up and running if it is stopped for quality or food safety concerns.
- Stop the line when needed to prevent further manufacture of off spec product, once you are aware of the problem
- Perform swabbing—allergen, ATP and environmental
- Perform quality checks such as changeover inspections, finished product sensory, evaluations of peanuts in raw or on tote line
- Inspection of incoming materials and shipments of finished product.
- Requires an understanding of all necessary documentation ensuring it is correct and accurate.
- Collect samples for retains and for micro samples and be able to accurately document samples for testing with proper paperwork as well as arrange for shipment to outside testing labs.
- Ability to determine if a product needs to be put on hold and document when product goes on hold or if product is to be reworked.
- Will be responsible for generating report forms, building files and labeling.
- Assist quality Supervisor or other team management in any task, forms, or paperwork that needs to be done as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Experience with food manufacturing Principles and implementation.
- 1-3 years’ production manufacturing experience.
- Must be able to work well both independently and collaboratively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
General Responsibilities
- Partner with our team members in being committed to delivering the best possible product to our customers.
- Supervise up to 15-20 employees per shift to ensure that all daily operations of the plant run smoothly.
- Coordinates work schedules, staffing requirements, and production sequences to maximize productivity.
- Work in conjunction with the plant manager for scheduling of production
- Assign personnel accordingly to meet production goals
- Maintain working knowledge of machine capabilities
- Delivers or coordinates staff training and on-boards new staff.
- Work with maintenance to keep equipment running at its peak efficiency
- Recommend improvements in machinery, equipment, or manufacturing methods
- Oversee compliance with all food safety regulations and employee safety requirements
- Provide employee training based on job requirements
- Conduct monthly inventory
- Oversee cleaning in accordance with the cleaning and sanitation schedules
- Inspect forklift drivers
Manufacturing Safety Responsibilities
- Report safety problems to management
- Duty to report illness or bodily fluid contamination that could impact manufacturing safety

- Install, diagnose and repair AC circuits (Single and 3 phase)
- Run conduit when needed
- Troubleshoot and install VFDs and servo drives
- Diagnose and replace AC, DC, and servo
- Troubleshoot and replace PLCs. Programming preferred.
- Diagnose and repair elector pneumatic controls and circuits
- Diagnose and repair Ethernet controls
- Troubleshoot, repair, and replace belts, chains, sprockets, pumps, motors
- Must be willing to come in on a call out.
- Complete assigned daily tasks using a daily checklist and/or schedule.
- Understand each piece of equipment, learn how it works
- Be able to disassemble each piece of equipment as needed per the SOP’s.
- Assist Maintenance Supervision in training new maintenance employees.
- Document all tasks completed using the Preventive Maintenance Program and Work Order System
- Clean, sanitize, and do a part and tool reconciliation after work has been completed.
- Communicate with maintenance on issues related to the facility such as daily maintenance concerns, and facility or grounds maintenance.
- Support plant operations otherwise as needed

Purpose:
The Maintenance Supervisor at Hampton Farms Industrial Plant is responsible for the maintenance of the facility and equipment of the Industrial Plant. The Maintenance Supervisor is a critical position in Hampton Farms food quality and safety systems. Being a producer of peanuts and peanut products, the Maintenance Supervisor is aware of risks involved with regard to keeping all areas of the facility including equipment in good working order by using preventive maintenance techniques, daily checklists, and proper repair procedures. The Maintenance Supervisor is trained in various SOP’s pertaining to the job and equipment required.
Essential Duties and Description:

- Assist maintenance team with daily tasks using a daily checklist and/or schedule.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical industrial equipment
- Belts, chains, sprockets, pumps, motors, wiring, conduit, PLC, HMIs
- Train and develop high performing maintenance team
- Document all tasks completed using the Preventive Maintenance Program and Work Order System
- Maintain an updated Master Preventive Maintenance Schedule.
- Execute small projects
- Understand and adhere to all food safety protocols
- Communicate with Maintenance Manager and Plant Manager on issues related to the facility such as daily maintenance concerns, new projects, new equipment, staffing, and facility or grounds maintenance.
- Assist management staff when needed
- Must have data entry skills to produce reports, and build files
- Help fellow employees in other areas when needed

Skills and Competencies:
- GMP Training (New hire and Annual)
