Production Associate

This position is based at our Hampton Farms location in Springfield, MA.

Summary

Each production line will have one designated machine operator and at least one designated packer. The machine operator is ultimately responsible for all activities at the production line they are assigned to. Person(s) in the packer position work under the direction of the machine operator for that station. The following are the duties and responsibilities for packers:

Pay rate: $15.00 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Always work in a safe manor.
  • Assist with set up as instructed by the machine operator. This may include any of the following:
  • Restock cartons -Set up cartons on chairs
  • Set up carton printer -Sweep production area -Check that all surfaces and work area are clean
  • When running, keep cartons supplied to yourself and the operator
  • Check weight and date print on bags against weight and date on production sheet.
  • Be sure weight on weight sheet is the same as listed weight on the production sheet.
  • Check weights on bags first run when starting up and tell the operator what they are.
  • Check weights on 3 bags every 30 minutes, tell the operator and record the weights on the daily weight sheets.
  • Scan bags for proper placement of top hole, weight and date stamp, print quality. Tell the operator of any issues.
  • Pack bags in cartons keeping up with production
  • Stack finished cases on pallet
  • Remove finished pallet to assigned area
  • Count finished cases to confirm operator’s count
  • Replace full pallet with empty pallet. Place cardboard on pallet when needed.
  • Assist with cleaning of machine as directed by operator
  • Assist with complete tear down and washing cleaning as directed by operator or supervisor
  • Any other tasks that the operator asks to be done.
  • If machine is not running shut off table and conveyor and taper.
  • Check to see that carton printer controller is properly in it’s holder.
  • Often a middle person will assist with stacking pallets, removing finished pallets, placing an empty pallet but it is the packer’s responsibility first that these tasks are done.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent(GED)
  • Some College is preferred
  • Experience with food manufacturing Principles and implementation.
  • 1-3 years’ production manufacturing experience.
  • Must be able to work well both independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to clearly present recommendations/ideas and to summarize issues.
  • Ability to appropriately handle confidential material.

Job Physical Demands:

  • Continuous standing in one location for long periods (2-3 hours before break)
  • Lifting: Intermediate lifting up to 55 lbs for up to half your shift (up to 4 hours)
  • Climbing :ladders, stairs, etc. –using feet and legs or hands and arms 1/3 of the time
  • Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist
  • Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending legs and spine
  • Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
  • Handling: Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand or hands
  • Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds by ears
  • Depth Perception: Three‑dimensional vision. Ability to judge distances

Shipping Clerk

This position is based at our Hampton Farms location in Springfield, MA.

Job Purpose

Support the senior staff (2) in the peanut and commodity acquisition department

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Order entry
  • Preparing Bills of Lading, Invoicing, Logistics – including functions associated with these tasks
  • Inventory management/Confirmation
  • Approving Payables
  • General clerical duties including emailing, photocopying, fax and mailing, but not limited to other tasks associated with this position
  • Maintain electronic and hard copy filing system
  • Retrieve documents from filing system
  • Maintain office supply inventories
  • Coordinate maintenance of office equipment
  • Assist with label room including label printing, data entry, etc.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations — ideally 1–2 years.
  • Experience in a food processing, manufacturing, or logistics environment is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and shipping documentation (bills of lading, invoices, packing slips).
  • Willing to learn and grow, work in other departments or on projects if needed
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude while working independently or as part of a team
  • Must Have: Shipping, computer and office experience

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Forklift certification would be a plus

Production Lead

Job Purpose

The purpose of the Processing Team Lead at Hampton Farms is the manufacture of food products intended for the consumer. This position is a critical part of Hampton Farms food quality, safety, and responsibility for producing our peanut product. The lead must be aware of the risks and responsibility involved regarding proper formula usage, correct product feed rates, peanut flow, container filling, sanitation, quality, machine operations and other aspects of the facility. This position reports to the Production Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Verify with production supervisor & Quality Assurance that the correct peanuts and ingredients are being used and records being filled out properly.
  • Distribute shift paperwork to operators and ensure they understand paperwork, complete it and turn in to proper location/person.
  • Assist production supervisor in monitoring operators and personnel with attendance, breaks, behavior, and taking immediate action on safety when necessary
  • Communicate & carry out any work instructions to operators/employees from production supervisor on other team members when instructed/advised.
  • Able to fill any department position that falls below them, either for breaks or a full shift.
  • Able to train and help production supervisor assist the progress of new operators in all their job functions; this includes being able to explain skills in multiple ways including hands on training.
  • Monitor, instruct, and correct the first in first out stock rotation as necessary.
  • Able to learn how to work with high and low PH chemicals such as alpet and Alkaline cleaners for cleaning every other
  • This position will have full responsibility over an entire Production area
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work area during the shift.
  • Help fellow employees in other areas when needed.
  • Perform any other work assigned or complete any other forms & reports assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Experience with food manufacturing Principles and implementation.
  • At least 1 year experience in a manufacturing/production leadership role
  • Must be able to work well both independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to clearly present recommendations/ideas and to summarize issues.
  • Ability to appropriately handle confidential material.
  • Ability to multitask.

Job Purpose

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts, investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies, and supporting daily material handling activities. This role plays a key part in ensuring product accuracy, efficient warehouse flow, and compliance with company inventory procedures. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of inventory processes and food manufacturing. This position requires a person with proven oral and written skills along with interpersonal and negotiation skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, including quantity, location, and product identification issues.
  • Handle and move materials within the warehouse using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
  • Restack and reorganize pallets to maintain safe and efficient warehouse conditions.
  • Support shipping, receiving, and production teams with inventory-related needs.
  • Record and adjust inventory transactions in the ERP system (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, etc.).
  • Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages or overages to management.
  • Assist with inventory audits and other special projects as required.
  • Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and safety standards.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of inventory control or warehouse experience.
  • Experience performing cycle counts and using ERP or inventory management systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Excel, email, data entry).

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.

Work Environment and Physical Demand

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Warehouse or manufacturing setting.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures, depending on storage conditions.
