Job Purpose

Support the senior staff (2) in the peanut and commodity acquisition department

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Order entry
  • Preparing Bills of Lading, Invoicing, Logistics – including functions associated with these tasks
  • Inventory management/Confirmation
  • Approving Payables
  • General clerical duties including emailing, photocopying, fax and mailing, but not limited to other tasks associated with this position
  • Maintain electronic and hard copy filing system
  • Retrieve documents from filing system
  • Maintain office supply inventories
  • Coordinate maintenance of office equipment
  • Assist with label room including label printing, data entry, etc.

Inventory Controller

This position is based at our Hampton Farms location in Springfield, MA.

Job Purpose

Inventory Controller responsibilities include counting and balancing merchandise, making price lists of products in stock by scanning them with a bar code reader/writer. You will also identify any discrepancies or losses at the end of business operations each week.

Ultimately, you will be responsible for tracking all inventory to ensure our company maintains proper inventory levels for products, equipment and supplies as needed. This position will report to the Plant Manager.

Regulatory Responsibilities:

  • Awareness in the role to ensure inventory is accurate.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Tracking inventory maintenance.
  • Controlling flows of equipment and supplies.
  • Reporting to management and advising on process improvements.
  • Evaluating and managing stock rotation procedures.
  • Managing multiple projects at one time in an effective and timely manner.
  • Maintaining inventory storage space in the store’s warehouse.
  • Planning warehouse space usage.
  • Placing inventory restock orders.
  • Communicating with management about any inventory issues.
  • Work with management if products are missing or damaged within a shipment.
  • Able to problem solve and produce ways to improve overall efficiency and overcome inventory problems.
  • Assist as needed in the warehouse.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Proven work experience as an Inventory Controller or similar role
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the field
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Working knowledge of working with a database, and spreadsheet software

Physical Demands

  • Requires the ability to use computer-based tools for planning and analysis on a frequent basis.
  • Flexible to work different shifts and time to maintain an accurate physical inventory

Sanitation Technician

This position is based at our Hampton Farms location in Springfield, MA.

This position will report to theQuality Assurance Manager

Food Safety Responsibilities:

  • Duty to report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action
  • Duty to report illness or bodily fluid contamination that could impact food safety
  • Duty to follow Good Manufacturing Practices

Regulatory Responsibilities:

  • Awareness in role to ensure we meet SQF and other regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with other Sanitation Technicians during normal cleaning tasks and special projects
  • Maintain cleanliness of production equipment and production rooms
  • Receive department deliveries and properly document
  • Attend daily production meetings; offer input from a sanitation perspective
  • Work with other departments when needed and on the weekends
  • Perform daily sanitation chemical checks
  • Perform weekly sanitation supply inventory
  • Perform monthly chemical cabinet checks
  • Perform monthly safety kit checks
  • Perform any cleaning tasks per the master sanitation schedule
  • Perform any other tasks deemed necessary by department manager
  • Fill foot baths daily
  • Must be able to read and write as forms need to be filled out daily

Production Lead

Job Purpose

The purpose of the Processing Team Lead at Hampton Farms is the manufacture of food products intended for the consumer. This position is a critical part of Hampton Farms food quality, safety, and responsibility for producing our peanut product. The lead must be aware of the risks and responsibility involved regarding proper formula usage, correct product feed rates, peanut flow, container filling, sanitation, quality, machine operations and other aspects of the facility. This position reports to the Production Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Verify with production supervisor & Quality Assurance that the correct peanuts and ingredients are being used and records being filled out properly.
  • Distribute shift paperwork to operators and ensure they understand paperwork, complete it and turn in to proper location/person.
  • Assist production supervisor in monitoring operators and personnel with attendance, breaks, behavior, and taking immediate action on safety when necessary
  • Communicate & carry out any work instructions to operators/employees from production supervisor on other team members when instructed/advised.
  • Able to fill any department position that falls below them, either for breaks or a full shift.
  • Able to train and help production supervisor assist the progress of new operators in all their job functions; this includes being able to explain skills in multiple ways including hands on training.
  • Monitor, instruct, and correct the first in first out stock rotation as necessary.
  • Able to learn how to work with high and low PH chemicals such as alpet and Alkaline cleaners for cleaning every other
  • This position will have full responsibility over an entire Production area
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work area during the shift.
  • Help fellow employees in other areas when needed.
  • Perform any other work assigned or complete any other forms & reports assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Experience with food manufacturing Principles and implementation.
  • At least 1 year experience in a manufacturing/production leadership role
  • Must be able to work well both independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to clearly present recommendations/ideas and to summarize issues.
  • Ability to appropriately handle confidential material.
  • Ability to multitask.

Work Environment

  • Combination of manufacturing environment along with duties that will require employee to work in a production/plant environment where physical hazards such as industrial equipment and forklifts may be present.

Forklift Operator

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe operating conditions.
  • Perform pre-operational checklist items.
  • Follow the Employee Health and personal Hygiene Requirements
  • Picks orders according to the Pick Sheet, records and compares Lot Numbers and quantities, pack and wrap pallets.
  • Verify customer orders to ensure quantity, quality, proper labeling and safe packaging.
  • Loading and unloading trucks.
  • Receive products, including visual quality inspection, compare and match all information on Packing Slip. Reports any damages / discrepancies to Manager.
  • Break down pallets and put product away in designated area, rotating stock for freshness.
  • Manage product inventory, including lot number traceability.

General Qualifications

  • Forklift Experience:1-year minimum
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds
  • Willing to learn and grow, work in other departments or on projects if needed

Machine Operator

  • Safely operate multiple machines in the Stone Creek production room
  • Work with minimal oversight and willing to follow directions closely
  • Operate designated machinery in the facility according to training provided, trouble shoot equipment and changeover if equipment requires
