Agricultural Sales Representative

This position is affiliated with our Meherrin location in Delmarva Pennisula but will cover Delaware, Virginia, Maryland sales territory.

Job Purpose

Meherrin Ag is seeking an experienced Chemical, Fertilizer, and Seed Salesperson with 4-5 years of proven success in the Delmarva Pennisula . The ideal candidate will have established relationships and a deep understanding of the local farm growers and market dynamics. This role is responsible for managing and expanding sales within the assigned territory, while providing leadership and oversight for all territory activities. Additionally, the Sales Representative will play a key role in fostering a company culture that aligns with our values and will manage the P&L for the territory.

Pay: $85,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and grow sales within the territory.
  • Meet and exceed performance objectives including unit and margin targets.
  • Support current dealers and recruit and develop new dealers.
  • Sell to farmers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with farmers in assigned territory.
  • Provide best-in-class service to our customers.
  • Execute on Meherrin sales strategy.
  • Stay up to date on products, trends, and technologies.
  • Assist with monthly physical inventory count as needed.
  • Attend and participate in industry events (trade shows, field days, etc.)
  • Ensure that all daily activities are aligned with Meherrin’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Adhere to company’s credit policies and procedures.
  • Travel is required and will vary depending on job responsibilities and territory.

Education and/or Experience

  • Associate degree or higher
  • Must have 4-5 years of successful agricultural sales experience in the region.
  • Prior outside sales experience
  • Good understanding of agriculture production, products, and agronomics.
