Job Purpose

The general sanitation technician of Hampton Farms Lubbock Division is involved in the cleaning and sanitizing of the Lubbock plant. The general sanitation technician is a critical position in Hampton Farms food quality and safety. This role will require effective and timely communication with the team and departmental managers. This position will report to the Quality Assurance Manager.

Pay: $13.50 per hour

PM Shift: 5PM – 5AM

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all practices are followed
  • Actively follows and ensures all company policies and procedures
  • Ensure that all sanitation schedule is completed
  • Ensure that work practices are in the guidelines of OSHA Standards
  • Clean and sanitize assigned areas
  • Help fellow employees in other areas when needed (Production, Quality, Warehouse, etc.)
  • Maintain all dispensers (soap, hand sanitizers, hairnets, beard nets, ear plugs)
  • Verify all chemicals being used are correctly labeled. Do not mix chemicals or put a chemical into a container that is not labeled correctly
  • Assist QA Manager any tasks needed
  • Follow all Company Rules and Policies
  • Work with Team Members to maximize productivity and efficiency
  • Must be willing to be cross-trained and move to other areas as needed

Sanitation Supervisor

Job Purpose

The Sanitation Supervisor position is responsible for supervising and developing the Sanitation department, ensuring the safe and efficient daily cleaning of the equipment and facility. The Sanitation Supervisor is a critical position in Hampton Farms Food Quality and Safety Team. Being a producer of peanuts and peanut products, the Sanitation Supervisor is aware of risks involved with regard to maintaining Hampton Farms cleanliness and quality standards. This position will report to the Quality Manager.

Pay range: $54,000 – $68,000 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Directs the Sanitation Team to complete all duties in a timely manner
  • Works with quality, production, maintenance and management to schedule plant sanitation activities
  • Works directly with the Quality team to test post clean equipment
  • Works directly with the plant Chemical Supplier to ensure the correct chemicals are on site and the correct cleaning procedures are being followed.
  • Maintains the plant Master Sanitation Schedule and ensures it’s completeness.

Quality Assurance Lead / SQF Practitioner

This position is based at our Hampton Farms location in Lubbock, TX.

Job Description: The QA Lead/SQF Practitioner reports directly to the Quality Supervisor and works closely with the processing site management to ensure the continuous integrity of the SQF and HACCP programs as well as continuous coverage in the laboratory. The QA Lead/SQF Practitioner works proactively with staff from all departments and levels to ensure a safe, quality product is produced. This position works directly with the Quality Control Technicians and will perform the duties of the QC Technician role regularly.

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Responsibilities include:

  • Be the site’s backup contact for the SQF certification during certification audits and with the certification auditor
  • Perform all regular job duties of the Quality Control Technician as required, fill in for technicians in their absence.
  • Understand, Implement, verify, and validate the site SQF program.
  • Oversee compliance with and maintenance of SQF systems through a process that effectively reviews, monitors and reassesses the effectiveness of all elements of the program (e.g., commitment, verification, validation, pre-requisite programs, document control, procedures, training) to ensure ongoing compliance and certification
  • Assist in conducting an annual in-house SQF self-audit using the SQF audit form to review SQF program status, level of participation and commitment at plant level
  • Update and manage; Product Rework Program, Supply Inventory Control Program, Document Control Program, SQF Program and lab technician paperwork reviews.
  • Perform project related tasks as assigned by facility QA Supervisor
  • Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe, quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements
  • Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF System
  • Develop and maintain an action register to manage audit follow-ups
  • Review and verify documentation and compliance materials ensuring that the program requirements are met.
  • Perform GMP inspections and lead the internal audits of the program, identifying improvement/risk areas.
  • Assist in facilitating timely, corrective, and preventative actions including but not limited to daily non-conformities/deviations, internal and external audit findings, and complaints.
  • Assist QA Supervisor and Manager in identifying areas of quality and food safety improvement.
  • Work with QC Techs on Peanut Butter and peanut quality sampling procedures and protocols.
  • Assist in training and coaching all QA Staff and Processing Personnel on overall quality and SQF requirements and expectations.
  • Help with regular processing duties of the facility as needed.
  • Assist plant management with creating a positive food safety and quality culture at the plant level.

Forklift Operator (1st shift)

This position is based at our Hampton Farms location in Lubbock, TX.

Warehouse Loader

Role and Responsibilities: Warehouse personnel of Hampton Farms is involved in the manufacture of food products intended for the consumer. Warehouse personnel need to have an overall understanding of receiving practices, shipping practices, loading / unloading material or product. Warehouse Personnel must know the location of each storage facility, inspection techniques, final product disposition, storage, proper packaging and labeling used at Hampton Farms. Being a producer of Almond butter, Warehouse personnel is aware of risks involved with regard to proper packaging, unloading and loading techniques (not damaging product, raw material, or packaging supplies), proper storage, and forklift safety. Warehouse personnel must maintain a clean and sanitary warehouse environment and must be familiar with the activity on the production floor to react if a crisis arises and primarily work independently. This position is for the Lubbock location and reports directly to the Warehouse Lead.

Salary: $16.00 per hour

1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (planning to move to 12-hour rotating shifts in July)

Industrial Maintenance Technician (Nights)

Job Purpose

This is a full-time experienced Maintenance Technician position that is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and installing photo eyes, motor starters, power supplies, limit switches, proximity sensors, pneumatic or automatic conveyors, rollers, lifts, and some robotics within a distribution center. Additionally, the technician will be working to troubleshoot, PM and upkeep automated loaders. Maintenance technicians are also responsible for troubleshooting and repairing AC/DC electrical systems, reading schematics, and using electrical testing equipment (Volt-Ohm meter, amp meter, oscilloscope). Our experienced Maintenance technicians contribute a unique skillset using preventative maintenance systems, work order tracking through a CMMS. Maintenance technicians have the skill and flexibility to work on any equipment within the facility and may need to operate Arc Welders, Mig Welders and Heliarc® (TIG) Welders for repair, and fabrication. The knowledge to use scissor lifts, Boom lifts and a man basket are preferred. This position will report to the Maintenance Manager.

  • Customer Service: given our emphasis on mechanical aptitude, you might be surprised to see customer service listed here, but remember we interact with all levels of team members on the floor. Compensation: This will of course be based on experience and what you can bring to the Maintenance Team and Hampton Farms as a whole. We do have a 3-Tier Technician rating and the pay ranges from entry level 1 Technicians to more experienced level 3 Technicians.

Machine Operator (PM Shifts)

This position is based at our Hampton Farms location in Lubbock, TX.

The Company

Hampton Farms is the leading In-Shell Peanut Company in the US. We are also a leading producer of other types of nuts and nut butters for the retail and commercial markets. You can find our product in most grocery stores and major league baseball stadiums. We distribute under the Hampton Farms brand and are also a leading private label manufacturer.

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Shift Types:

Hiring for ALL Shifts

Job Responsibilities

  • Work first, second, and third shifts in our peanut roasting, peanut butter producing and packaging facilities.
  • Work with minimal oversight and willing to follow directions closely.
  • Operate designated machinery in the facility according to training provided, trouble shoot equipment and changeover if equipment requires.
  • Paperwork and Documentation
  • Lift bags and or boxes weighing as much as 50lbs.
  • Stand on their feet for multiple hours.
  • Travel up and down stairs and crossovers.
  • Perform any other duties that is asked of them by the supervisors/managers (Even if the task does not pertain to their position).
  • Maintain a sanitary work environment that promotes employee cleanliness and meets all regulatory requirements.
  • May work in all areas of the plant(s) to maintain areas in accordance with Master Sanitation Schedules.
  • Clean and sanitize using verified chemicals within the plant.
  • May be asked to conduct visual inspections verifying that all production, picking, processing, sorting, packaging, warehousing, and areas are ready for the next production shift/day.
  • Open and flexible to occasional fluctuating/flexing hours based on business need and customer order shipment scheduling.

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Manufacturing is helpful,
  • Any experience in food manufacturing and
  • GMP knowledge is a plus.

Plant Manager

The Company

This position is based at our Hampton Farms facility located in Lubbock, TX.

Purpose

The Plant Manager effectively manages all production functions and personnel related to the operation of the Hampton Farms production facility. Primary responsibilities include production operations, personnel management, and quality assurance. Goals are achieved through partnerships with other plant staff members and being committed to delivering the best possible experience to our customers and employees in support of our mission, vision, and values.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and enforce all company policies giving direction to employees in the production and warehouse areas. Set all production goals. (Plant & Machine performance)
  • Verify with the production scheduler what products are running at the beginning of each shift.
  • Work in conjunction with Maintenance and capital projects
  • Communicate with the plant staff on issues related to the facility such as staffing, production goals, quality concerns, facility, and grounds maintenance.
  • Oversee & Maintain all Operational budgets (Capital budgets)
  • Handle personnel decisions from disciplinary actions (including reprimands), and time clock management.
  • Communicate with production scheduler & Shipping Supervisor to meet customer requirements and shipping dates. Constantly have an updated production schedule.
  • Build teamwork & set goals (work with Shift Supervisors)
  • Assist HR and Safety Manager with personnel needs.
  • Assist in Maintaining Training Program.
  • Assist with maintaining Master Sanitation Schedule, Chemical Control Program, Sanitation Training, and techniques. (with Quality Assurance Manager)
  • Verify with production that all products produced meets Federal, State, and customer quality standards. Monitor all specifications for raw materials and finished product.
  • GMP Training (New hire and Annual)
  • General knowledge of SOPs for all production areas and pieces of production equipment
  • SOPs for Production and understand the need for updated employee training, Allergen Control Program, and Chemical Control Programs
  • Sufficient knowledge of quality control and production specifications.
  • Sufficient knowledge of HACCP/Food Safety Plan standards and SQF requirements.
  • Current production schedules
  • Partner with General Manager as needed with goals/projects.

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Preferably Food Experience (SQF or similar)
  • Manufacturing & Logistics Experience
  • Bachelor’s in business or equivalent
  • 10-20 years of experience preferred.
  • Technical skills in e-learning and mobile training.
  • Analytical and systematic thinker.
  • Energetic, driven, and accountable.
  • Team player, self-motivated, and exceptional communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
