Production Manager

To have an overall understanding of material and ingredients needs to ensure uninterrupted production through the facility. This position will report to the Plant Manager and will ensure the product is produced efficiently at optimal cost and with the highest level of quality. Our new Production Manager will find a steady stream of process improvements to balance increasing plant efficiency while maintaining product quality and food safety standards. The company offers a full benefit plan along with company and individual bonus programs.

Pay range: $70,000 – $85,000 per year

Essential Duties and Description:

  • Manage all aspects of Production including four Shift Supervisors
  • Gain knowledge of equipment to assist/operate when necessary.
  • Support a companywide commitment to manufacture safe, quality, food and a plant wide commitment to safety. This position includes a heavy involvement in Customer, SQF and Organic Audits.
  • Engage and encourage employees across all departments and levels in the company to improve their individual performance and to grow their careers within the company.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and budgeting. Shows proactivity in looking for cost savings opportunities to meet individual and plant goals.
  • Create and/or edit reports showing production efficiency, downtime and overall production.
  • Diagnose production issues to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or related Production Management experience
  • Minimum of three years of leadership experience in a food manufacturing environment or five years of leadership experience in other manufacturing environments
  • Experience in Lean, TPM, Continuous Improvement and Change Management Programs.
  • Show a history of documented leadership skills and exceptional problem-solving skills.

Industrial Maintenance Technician (5 PM – 5 AM)

Job Purpose

This is a full-time experienced Maintenance Technician position that is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and installing photo eyes, motor starters, power supplies, limit switches, proximity sensors, pneumatic or automatic conveyors, rollers, lifts, and some robotics within a distribution center. Additionally, the technician will be working to troubleshoot, PM and upkeep automated loaders. Maintenance technicians are also responsible for troubleshooting and repairing AC/DC electrical systems, reading schematics, and using electrical testing equipment (Volt-Ohm meter, amp meter, oscilloscope). Our experienced Maintenance technicians contribute a unique skillset using preventative maintenance systems, work order tracking through a CMMS. Maintenance technicians have the skill and flexibility to work on any equipment within the facility and may need to operate Arc Welders, Mig Welders and Heliarc® (TIG) Welders for repair, and fabrication. The knowledge to use scissor lifts, Boom lifts and a man basket are preferred. This position will report to the Maintenance Manager.

Job Purpose

The Shift Lead of Hampton Farms is involved in the manufacture of food products intended for the consumer. The Lead provides a critical position in Hampton Farms food quality and safety for producing our peanut products, being a producer of peanut products, the Lead is aware of risks involved with regard to maintaining Hampton Farms quality standards, proper packaging, proper labeling, all receiving and shipments are properly inspected, and all documentation is correct and accurate. The Lead is trained in various areas pertaining to the job required. This position will report to the Production Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead 10-20 employees per shift to ensure that all daily operations of the plant run smoothly
  • Assist with handling any employee issues, discrepancies, or misconduct among employees on your shift.
  • Monitor attendance of each employee on your shift to adhere to the Attendance & Point System Policy.
  • Monitor what products are running during each shift
  • Sign and verify all with quality supervisor and/or manager
  • Monitor paperwork by Operators (quality documents, metal detector sheets, roasting peanuts report, and weight check sheets)
  • Monitor incoming products such as raw peanuts, packaging materials, and ingredients
  • Help Quality Manager and Supervisor monitor HACCP, SQF requirements, operating procedures and Food Safety Sanitation.
  • Be able to determine if a product needs to be put on hold and document when product goes on hold or if product is reworked.
  • Maintain visual pre-operational sanitation inspections prior to beginning of the day’s production after clean break to ensure food safety.
  • Data entry skills to produce reports, build files, label printing, trend analysis and trend analysis reports.
  • Follow sanitation schedule for weekends and/or any other scheduled times
  • Help with internal audits (SQF, Food Defense, Chemical Audits, GMP audits).
  • Lift bags and/or boxes weighing as much as 50lbs.

  • Work with the Production Team on materials needed for each production day.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Engage in measures of improvement and development of the warehouse.
  • Motivate staff to make an effective and efficient team.
  • Operate a forklift truck.
  • Load and unload shipments according to schedule.
  • Assist with checking in and signing out drivers
  • Helping with drivers/paperwork for both inbound and outbound loads
  • Filing
  • Maintaining files/records for orders/BOL’s/paperwork
  • Any other work assigned by the Production Supervisor.
  • Skills and Competencies: Knowledge of products; Basic math skills; Computer skills (MSOffice products) is a requirement; Attention to detail, strongly desired; and previous forklift and or warehouse experience preferred.
