Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Blend fertilizer
Load and unload trucks
Help maintain all grounds around the warehouses
Keep both warehouses clean and organized
Unload chemicals from Ag carriers
Occasional delivery of chemicals
Maintain and perform periodic maintenance on all equipment
Forklift and skid steer loader operation
Conduct processing invoices and transfer tickets

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma (GED) or equivalent
1+ years of warehouse experience
Good verbal and written communication skills
Work well individually and among others
Team Player

Physical Demand

Lift 60 pounds on a regular basis
Work out in both hot and cold conditions

Job Purpose

Meherrin Agricultural and Chemical Company is a leading provider of seeds, chemicals, and fertilizer to farmers throughout the Virginia area. This position reports to the Location Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Fulltime Applicator Operator
Primary Machine are Victors
Prefer someone with experience operating farming equipment or heavy machinery
Read, understand, and follow all operational and safety procedures listed in the operators’ manuals.
Must have valid driver’s license
Must be able to pass drug screen and background check
Successfully complete “ride-along” with experienced operator
Safety mindset

Pre-Operational

Check all fluid levels, including fuel, top off as necessary
Ensure all lights, including hazard lights are operational
Gather daily workplan from supervisor or salesperson
Adjust spreader settings for product and spreading requirements using the control panel and/or the manual adjustments on rear of machine.

Operational

Load Spreader with material to be spread using Auger Fertilizer Tender or with front end loader.
Proceed to the job site using appropriate road. Note this likely will include highway traffic.
Spread material onto the field (crops) per work instructions.
Repeat spreading as necessary to complete jobs for the day. Note there could be multiples jobs (customers) on any given day.
At the end of job, tally acreage to be billed for the job.
Return to home base at the end of the day.

Post Operational

Turn tickets into Administrative Assistant.
Inspect machine for any problems.
Clean as necessary.
Report any safety and operational problems to supervisor.
Maintain maintenance log and inform supervisor when maintenance is due.
