Maintenance Technician 2nd shift; 3rd shift

This position is based at our Severn Peanut Company location in Elizabethtown, NC.

Purpose

The maintenance technician of Hampton Farms is involved in the maintenance of the facility and equipment of the Industrial Plant. The general maintenance laborer is a critical position in Hampton Farms food quality and safety systems. Being a producer of peanuts and peanut products, the maintenance manager is aware of risks involved with regard to keeping the all areas of the facility including equipment in good working order by using preventive maintenance techniques, daily checklists, and proper repair procedures. The general maintenance laborer is trained in various SOP’s pertaining to the job and equipment required.

Essential Duties and Description

  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a working telephone
  • Complete assigned daily tasks using a daily checklist and/or schedule.
  • Understand each piece of equipment, learn how it works and disassemble each piece as needed per the SOP’s.
  • Assist Lead Maintenance Person in training new maintenance employees.
  • Document all tasks completed using the Preventive Maintenance Program and Work Order System
  • Clean, sanitize, and do a part and tool reconciliation after work has been completed.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment as required
  • Use Lockout / Tag out procedures when repairing equipment.
  • Communicate with maintenance on issues related to the facility such as daily maintenance concerns, and facility or grounds maintenance.
  • Help fellow employees in other areas when needed
  • Any other work assigned by the lead maintenance person or manager.

  • SOP’s for Receiving Program, Shipping Program, and Storage Program (Packaging Supplies, , Inventory Control, Stock Rotation, Raw Materials and Finished Product)

  • Able to earn & maintain a valid forklift license from Hampton Farms for the designated work area
  • Able to earn & maintain the right to operate the floor scrubber and be able to maintain it

Education and Experience:

  • Associate Degree in Electricity or a related field required
  • Experience with food manufacturing Principles and implementation.
  • 1-3 years’ production manufacturing experience.

  • Must be efficient in utilizing Electrical skills & performances

Forklift Operator 3rd Shift

This position is based at our Peanut Processors facilities in Elizabethtown, NC.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Maintain safe operating conditions.

· Perform pre-operational checklist items.

· Follow the Employee Health and personal Hygiene Requirements

· Picks orders according to the Pick Sheet, records and compares Lot Numbers and quantities, pack and wrap pallets.

· Verify customer orders to ensure quantity, quality, proper labeling and safe packaging.

· Loading and unloading trucks.

· Receive products, including visual quality inspection, compare and match all information on Packing Slip. Reports any damages / discrepancies to Manager.

· Break down pallets and put product away in designated area, rotating stock for freshness.

· Manage product inventory, including lot number traceability.

· Warehouse work

Production Lead First Shift

Job Purpose

The Shift Lead of Hampton Farms is involved in the manufacture of food products intended for the consumer. The Lead provides a critical position in Hampton Farms food quality and safety for producing our peanut products, being a producer of peanut products, the Lead is aware of risks involved with regard to maintaining Hampton Farms quality standards, proper packaging, proper labeling, all receiving and shipments are properly inspected, and all documentation is correct and accurate. The Lead is trained in various areas pertaining to the job required. This position will report to the Production Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead 10-20 employees per shift to ensure that all daily operations of the plant run smoothly
  • Assist with handling any employee issues, discrepancies, or misconduct among employees on your shift.
  • Monitor attendance of each employee on your shift to adhere to the Attendance & Point System Policy.
  • Monitor what products are running during each shift
  • Sign and verify all with quality supervisor and/or manager
  • Monitor paperwork by Operators (quality documents, metal detector sheets, roasting peanuts report, and weight check sheets)
  • Monitor incoming products such as raw peanuts, packaging materials, and ingredients
  • Help Quality Manager and Supervisor monitor HACCP, SQF requirements, operating procedures and Food Safety Sanitation.
  • Be able to determine if a product needs to be put on hold and document when product goes on hold or if product is reworked.
  • Maintain visual pre-operational sanitation inspections prior to beginning of the day’s production after clean break to ensure food safety.
  • Data entry skills to produce reports, build files, label printing, trend analysis and trend analysis reports.
  • Follow sanitation schedule for weekends and/or any other scheduled times
  • Help with internal audits (SQF, Food Defense, Chemical Audits, GMP audits).
  • Lift bags and/or boxes weighing as much as 50lbs.
  • Stand on their feet for multiple hours.
  • Travel up and down stairs and crossovers.
  • Perform any other duties that are asked of them by the supervisors/managers (Even if the task does not pertain to their position).

Education and/or Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED).

Quality Assurance Technician 2nd & 3rd shifts

This position will be based at our Hampton Farms (Peanut Processors) location in Elizabethtown, NC.

Job Overview:

The QA technician will work in conjunction with the Production Team & Quality Assurance department as well as other Hampton Farms team members supporting processing and production requirements of Hampton Farms Peanut Butter Operations. The QA technician will be partnering with other Hampton Farms team members in being committed to delivering the best possible quality to our customers & employees in support of our mission, vision & values.

Essential Duties and Description:

  • Verify with QA Supervision or Crew Leader what products are scheduled to be produced during the shift. Document down time, inventory tracking forms. Turn all paperwork into Quality Assurance Supervisor.
  • Complete accurately Quality reporting forms.
  • Responsible for performing both physical and analytical tests (moisture, fat and salt analysis; penetration and stability; grind analysis; color analysis) as required to ensure quality standards are maintained.
  • Calculate formulations based on peanut fat to determine formula.
  • Other duties include the inspection of incoming materials and shipments of finished product.
  • Requires an understanding of all necessary documentation ensuring it is correct and accurate.
  • Collect samples for retains and for micro samples and be able to accurately document samples for testing with proper paperwork as well as arrange for shipment to outside testing labs.
  • Have a general understanding of HACCP, SQF Edition 8, operating procedures and Food Safety Sanitation.
  • Ability to determine if a product needs to be put on hold and document when product goes on hold or if product is to be reworked.
  • Will be responsible for generating report forms, building files and labeling.
  • Assist QA Management in any task that needs to be done as assigned.
  • Knows and adheres to GMP policy and all Quality policies and procedures.
  • Assists in identifying and or reporting non-conforming product to aid in eliminating waste.
  • Communicates daily with Quality to ensure customer specifications are met.

Education and Experience
