This position is based at our Hampton Farms location in Severn, NC.
Job Purpose
The role of a Machine Operator is to be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of machinery used in the processing and packaging of peanut products. You will ensure that production runs smoothly, meeting quality and efficiency standards while adhering to safety protocols.
Pay: $15.00 – $16.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operate and monitor machinery used in the processing, sorting, roasting, and packaging of peanuts.
2. Set up machines according to production requirements, including adjusting settings and calibrating equipment.
3. Monitor machine operations to ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
4. Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
5. Troubleshoot basic machinery issues and make necessary adjustments or repairs to maintain continuous operation.
6. Monitor raw material supply and coordinate with the assigned team members and the Supervisor to ensure uninterrupted production, if applicable.
7. Maintain accurate production records.
8. Follow all safety and food safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
9. Collaborate with other team members to optimize production processes and solve technical problems.
10. Conduct a visual inspection of the product to ensure the quality of the product, and no foreign material.
10. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Previous experience operating machinery in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably in food processing or packaging.
3. Mechanical aptitude and ability to understand machine operation principles while using hand tools.
4. Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose and resolve basic machinery issues.
5. Attention to detail and ability to maintain focus in a fast-paced environment.
6. Ability to lift and carry moderate to heavy loads, up to 50 pounds, and stand for extended periods on hard surfaces.
7. Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
8. Understanding of safety protocols and willingness to follow all safety guidelines.
9. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
