Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Production Manager to ensure uninterrupted production, optimize efficiency, maintain quality standards, and drive continuous improvement. This role reports to the Plant Manager and oversees all production activities, including four Shift Supervisors. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, food safety knowledge, and a commitment to employee development. Full benefits and bonus programs are offered.

Pay: $70,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all production operations, including supervision of four Shift Supervisors.
  • Ensure safe, high-quality food production and support all Customer, SQF, and Organic audits.
  • Understand plant equipment and assist with operation as needed.
  • Develop and mentor employees across all departments.
  • Monitor budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support financial goals.
  • Create and update production reports (efficiency, downtime, throughput).
  • Troubleshoot production issues to reduce downtime and improve performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant Production Management experience.
  • Minimum 3 years leadership in food manufacturing or 5 years leadership in other manufacturing.
  • Experience with Lean, TPM, Continuous Improvement, and change management.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills with a track record of results.

Production Supervisor (5PM – 5AM)

Job Purpose

The Production Supervisor of Hampton Farms is involved in the manufacture of food products intended for the consumer. This person provides a critical position in Hampton Farms’ food quality and safety for producing our peanut products. The Supervisor is aware of the risks involved with regard to maintaining Hampton Farms’ quality standards, proper packaging, proper labeling, proper inspection of all receiving and shipments, and all correct and accurate documentation. The Supervisor is trained in various areas pertaining to the job required.

Pay: $65,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year

Responsibilities

  • Monitor products that are running during each shift
  • Sign and verify all products with quality supervisor and/or manager
  • Monitor paperwork by Operators (quality documents, metal detector sheets, roasting peanuts report, and weight check sheets)
  • Monitor incoming products such as raw peanuts, packaging materials, and ingredients
  • Help Quality Manager and Supervisor monitor HACCP, SQF requirements, operating procedures
  • Food Safety Sanitation.
  • Determine if a product needs to be put on hold – document when a product goes on hold or if a product is reworked.
  • Help with internal audits (SQF, Food Defense, Chemical Audits, GMP audits)
  • Occasionally provide and coordinate plant tours with customers and/or visitors
  • Maintain awareness of warehouse programs (shipping, receiving, and storage)
  • Assist QA manager when requested to
  • Understands and adheres to GMP policy and all quality policies and procedures
  • Perform any other duties that are asked of them by the managers (Even if the task does not pertain to their position).

Supervisory

  • Issue reprimands to employees when needed by holding employees accountable for mistakes and not adhering to the company or plant policies
  • May be asked to assist in interviewing potential new hires

Sanitation

  • Maintain visual pre-operational sanitation inspections prior to beginning of the day’s production after clean break to ensure food safety
  • Follow sanitation schedule for weekends and/or any other scheduled times
  • Clean work area and prepare for next shift

Job Purpose

The Shift Lead of Hampton Farms is involved in the manufacture of food products intended for the consumer. The Lead provides a critical position in Hampton Farms food quality and safety for producing our peanut products, being a producer of peanut products, the Lead is aware of risks involved with regard to maintaining Hampton Farms quality standards, proper packaging, proper labeling, all receiving and shipments are properly inspected, and all documentation is correct and accurate. The Lead is trained in various areas pertaining to the job required. This position will report to the Production Manager.

Pay: From $30.00 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead 10-20 employees per shift to ensure that all daily operations of the plant run smoothly
  • Assist with handling any employee issues, discrepancies, or misconduct among employees on your shift.

Production Packer (5PM – 5AM)

Job description:

This position is based at our Hampton Farms location in Portales, NM.

Purpose:

The Production Packer of Hampton Farms is involved in the manufacture of food products intended for the consumer. The Production Packer provides a critical position in Hampton farms food quality and safety for producing our peanut product. Being a producer of peanuts and peanut products, the Production Packer is aware of risks involved with regards to maintaining Hampton Farms quality standards, proper packaging, proper labeling, and all documentation is correct and accurate. The Production Packer is trained in various areas pertaining to the job required. The Production Packer must maintain a clean and sanitary environment and must be familiar with the activity on the production floor to react if a crisis arises.

Shift Schedule: 5 PM – 5 AM working a rotating 12-hour schedule (3-4 days per week)

Starting Pay: $14 base pay with a $2 per hour shift differential

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Essential Duties and Description: include the following though other duties may be assigned:

  • Work in conjunction with all Hampton Farms team members supporting all areas of the facility.
  • Partnering with other Hampton Farms team members in being committed to delivering the best possible experience to our customers and employees in support of our mission, vision and values.
  • Small Pack lines (Hayssen 1, Hayssen 2, Viking and Hayssen Raw); verify the correct product being packaged; correct film being used, labeled with best by date and Julian Lot# and sealed properly. Make sure the correct boxes and tape color are being used. Each box has the proper label on it. Each pallet produced is labeled correctly, pallet tags.
  • Bulk line; verify the correct product being packaged; correct boxes and tape color are being used. Monitor box printer to ensure correct dates/Julian Lot #’s are being put on the boxes. Ensure each pallet produced is labeled correctly, pallet tags.
  • Communication with Production Manager if a problem arises.
  • Work in conjunction with Quality Department to assure that bags are being sealed correctly, code dates and weights are correct.
  • Knowledge of packaging weights and how to obtain using tabletop scale.
  • When using labels on boxes, ensure labels are correct before applying them to the box.
  • Make sure all trash is removed daily and at the end of the shift.
  • Clean peanut spills immediately when occurs.
  • Verify with Production Schedule with pack size, product and amount that will be in each box. Ensure that the amount of bags are correct going into each box.
  • Position requires standing for up to twelve hours or more and lifting and stacking of boxes that weigh up to 30 pounds. Bulk Line will require employee who could lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Be able to work in extreme environmental changes such as weather.
  • Knowledge of sanitation procedures including Raw Clean-up and Flavor Clean-up and assisting with the sanitation process as needed.
  • Forklift experience on an as needed basis. If forklift certified, will operate, and maintain preventively production vehicles and equipment, including daily forklift checklist. Will be Hampton Farms licensed forklift operator if applicable.
  • License Forklift Operators will obtain corrugated materials, and pallets from warehouse location.
  • Motivate staff to make an effective and efficient team.
  • Perform any other duties that are asked of them by the supervisors/managers (Even if the task does not pertain to their position).
