Senior Mechanic

This position is based at our MFI location in Smithfield, NC.

Job Purpose

Daily responsibilities will include reviewing work order request and following preventive maintenance schedules. We expect our mechanics to complete each job within specific deadlines. Will be expected to assist other maintenance personnel when needed. This position will report to the Plant Manager.

Pay Rage: $27.00 – $32.00 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing skid-steers and forklifts, systems, and components.
  • Maintaining hubs and axles, and bearings and adjusting or replacing them when required.
  • Inspecting, servicing, and replacing trailer parts, including tires.
  • Checking and repairing the brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Follows established safety procedures and regulations for hazardous materials handling
  • Work in a team setting

Education and/or Experience

  • Technical degree or related field would be a plus
  • 2-5 years’ experience
  • Working knowledge of basic tools and equipment
  • Able to work overtime, holidays, weekends, and emergency calls.
  • General maintenance knowledge
  • Work well independently and on a team
  • Team player

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Inspection Certification plus
  • Welder Certification plus

  • Mainly outside under warm and cold environment. Working around dust and wind
